"super ghetto chilean haircuts"

hi todos,

hope you all had a great week and i hope everyone is stoked for confernece this weekend. ive come to realize that conference in the mission is the best and i regret not paying better attention at home... but its going to be so good this year, and i get to watch it in the same chapel as last years conference here in san fernando!

bummer news....hector couldnt get baptized this week. i we went to his house on thursday of last week to do a baptismal interview and he told us that he had to go to santiago to a funeral for his sister, but we have the baptism still planned for the 10th of octubre. ill admit i was super sad when he told us that, but i think it was part of the lords plan because there are a few things that he needs to understand a little better.

good new: the zone is doing good, elder silvera and i foung 8 new investigators this week, and all have baptismal dates for the 10th or the 24th of october. this week was packed of miracles and after 7 weeks straight of knocking doors we finally found the people that were apparently waiting for this message. we found a family from venezuela, and a woman from the dominican republic that accepted a baptismal date right away and are reading the book of mormon now to see if its true. it really is incredible how prayers are answered (not always in the time we want) and how the lord listens to us and helps us. the investigators we have are all amazing and have real true desires to find the true church and change their lives. miracles happen in our sector.

questions:

in what specific way this week did you feel the Lord's hand in your missionary efforts?
finding the new investigators and seeing them progress.

where will you be watching conference this weekend?
in the district center called guadalupe

When we talked to Nick he said he woke up tired every morning.   Do you feel the same way?
ya im exhausted every day

do you ever sneak in a nap during lunch?
i wish, we aren't allowed to tomar siesta

have you been able to do some service as a result of the earthquake?
no nothing fell or got ruined in our part of the mission, but im hoping a huge earthquake comes soon!

did you get your shoes yet?
yes i did, thank you so much guys, they came right in time

from dason:

how much do you weigh?  what's that in kilos?
i weigh 169 or 77 kilos

have you had gnocchi?
no they dont have that here, but my comp said its super good and he ate it a lot back in uraguay

what are you doing with your hair?
getting super ghetto chilean haircuts haha

have you heard about the new electric long boards?
no but it sounds cool

do you know that donald trump is running for president in 2016?
ya one of the members told us that!!! how crazy is that.

is it difficult to become a pro wrestler in chile or is it political, obviously?
obvio es una cosa de politicas no mas

what's the favorite thing you've pulled out of your quote jar so far? i dont remember who it was from, but it said, without god we cannot win, with him we cannot fail.

Is there anything you need? nope everything's good

to end, i want to say how proud i am of the niƱo and his decision to watch conference instead of play in his first football game. i know conference is one of my favorite times of the year now and i invite everyone to watch all the sessions and pay attention to what the spirit tells you. thanks for all the emails and the package mom and dad! love you all so much, enjoy conference weekend!

love,

elder pacheco
