"this was one of my favorite conferences"

hey guys!

so this week was great as usual, but it was also more challenging than the others by far. we have had literally no success with any of our investigators. none of them are progressing anymore and we didn't get any of them to conference (which was so awesome ill get to that later). pretty much all our lessons and appointments fell through and none of our menos activos decided to come to conference with us either. im not sure what we are doing wrong, but i think its just a sign to work harder, so thats what we are going to do. i have learned not to how to care for our investigators and im sad when they choose not to come to church or they dont open the door even when i can clearly see that they are inside but i have learned not to be discouraged and not to let that sadness take over. i think the cure is more service and harder more loving work. we made a lot of good goals to work more effectively this week and to serve this people as much as we can.

ok now for conference. WOW. this was one of my favorite conferences, and it went by so fast. those past two days felt like one super fast conference session and i learned so much. i wish i would have taken notes on general conference before i came on the mission because i feel lke i learned so much more. my favorite was jorg klebingat ( dont know how to spell his last name) and jeffery r holland, as usual. i felt like both of them were talking directly to me and i learned what i need to do to become a better missionary, friend, example, disciple of Christ, and member of this church. i also learned of the importance of my patriarchal blessing this conference. read your patriarchal blessing often, like everyday often, and if you dont have one than get one. live according to your patriarchal blessing and live so that you can receive all the future blessings that are in your patriarchal blessing. one of my favorite quotes was from the 2nd sunday session: its time to take off our hatchet cover and go to work. one more thing, i learned that we all have weaknesses and that we need to confront them, and get over them. loved this general conference, its crazy to think that i only have 3 more here in chile!!! general conference definitely made this week a whole lot better and gave elder garcia and i a lot of ideas on how to better ourselves in this work. don't ignore the council of our prophets and apostles. they know what they are talking about.

ok mom sorry about the whole running out of money and food comment last week, i just meant we were out of money for that week. bad communication on my part ha sorry about that!! i promise im not starving and we are doing just fine on money. i have learned the lesson of spending and saving money since last month! alright now to answer the questions:

Where did you watch conference? Did you take any investigators with you? we watched it in the stake center, guadalupe and no we didnt have any investigators...

What was your favorite part?jorg k. and jeffery r holland. ts time to stop making excuses and get to work.

Did you understand most of the talk that was in Spanish? they had a voice over in english so i couldnt hear a lot of it in spanish, but from what i could hear, yes i could understand.

What was one of the spiritual highlights of the week? during conference i felt the strong prompting to work harder and that i need to serve.

Have you had any dangerous encounters? nothing too crazy, just the fight from a few weeks ago and we get growled at by dogs all the time but nothing bad has happened

Do you usually tract houses or spend more time street contacting? we are in a sector of all apartments called the blocks so we do door approaches a lot and we have a few good street contacts here and there

Did you ever get the letter we sent from us, brandons, and willis'?  we sent it about 2 weeks before you left the CCM. no i havent got a letter while in chile. the other elders say it takes a little longer than a month so i should be getting it really soon.

How many completos (hot dogs) have you had this week? we made goals after hearing jorg klebgnats talk about eating healthy so we arent having anymore completos or fried things or anything else like candy or sweets!

What can we specifically pray for this week? pray for our investigators. pray for president warne. oh by the way elder garcias family is much better, thanks for praying for him too!

well im gald to hear you are all doing well and im glad you loved conference as much as i did! keep those talks and the other words of the prophets close and go over them regularly, until april. cant wait.

i love you guys, i love this work, this mission of chile rancagua, the people here and this gospel of Jesus Christ. i know without a doubt it is the true gospel. why would me and 88,000 other missionaries be leaving their homes to serve if this gospel weren't true? exactly. its because it is true. i love you guys, thank you for your prayers and support. love you niƱo. be a good helper and keep saving for your mission! love you!

love,

elder pacheco
