hola familia y amigos!
Tell us a few interesting things about your new companion.
he loves riding dirt bikes, wake boarding, soccer, football, is kind or quiet, but funny and laid back just like me
Have you had your first district meeting yet?
ya on wednesday
How many elders/sisters are in your district?
i have 2 sisters and 3 other elders
Are there any elders in your district from the states? AZ?
elder lloyd from idaho, hermana squiers from utah hermana stringham from utah my comp from utah also and elder arriola from guatemala.
Where is Nick currently serving and when did you last see him?
i saw him last when we had cambios en talca una semana atras.
When was your last zone conference? What did you do?
we had our last zone meeting two wednesdays ago and we listened to all the district leaders teach a short lesson and then had interviews with pres. warne
What did you read in the scriptures during personal study this morning?
i read in D&C 18:10, D&C 18:15-16 about the worth of souls and how great our joy will be if we bring but one soul to the lord. we are all missionaries, we have our calls and we know what we have to do.
We're having fhe tomorrow night on the Sacrament. How has your attitude or thoughts about the sacrament changed since you've been on your mission?
the sacrament is literally one of my favorite parts of the week. i love taking that time to really think about my week, what i can to better, and how i can keep improving through the help of cristo.
Tell us more about constitution. What do most people do for work? do they have movie theaters? restaurants? what do people do for entertainment? does it have a funky smell? are people on the streets friendly? there are tons of small businesses for fishing boats, kayak rentals in the ocean, and the factory by the beach. no theaters or malls or anything, just a plaza with con certs every few nights and the beach. it always smells like fish, and the people are a little hard to talk to here, but for the most part, they are happy and let us in their houses. there are a lot of catholics here though. a ton.
How do people most people respond when you tell them you're from Arizona? they try to speak english and then realize that they don't know as much ingles as they thought ha.
este
semana fue muy muy dificil con lecciones y progreso con nuestros
investigadores pero fue muy bakan para conocer mi nuevo compaƱero. see
if you guys can understand a little spanish. so we had a busy week with
going to get my new comp, and having my first district class which went
really good. i talked about the armor of god, made the sword and shield
out of cardboard and we shot nerf guns at one of the elders in the
district to demonstrate how we can deflect the firey darts of the
adversary with the lords help and his armor. went really goo
d for my first class.
my new comps name is
elder higginbotham from provo utah (all the members here call utah the
factory or la fabrica). he has 19 years, and we get along really well.
we all like the same stuff, and we work really good together. like i
said, this week was hard as far as work in the sector, but things are
going to be better this week. no one is really progressing that much.
maribel is kind of fading away... she hasn't been to church for the past
while and the progress with juan and janet is super slow... we are going
to keep working with them though and keep praying and fasting for them.

this week we have
been statying in contact with juan and janet everyday to help them
progress and they have given us some really wierd stuff to eat. we had
raw squid meat that juan caught, squid empenadas, cactus, and some
dog... gross, but hey its part of the mission!
oh
and the last thing that happened: we walked into this guys house to
teach him, and he was really drunk. he started drinking a corona while
we were teaching him, and then all of a sudden he stood up, got really
serious, and pulled out a pistol and told us to give him our bags and
all our money! elder higginbotham got freaked out and threw his bag, and
luckily after that, the guy said he was just joking and that the gunb
was fake. i was pretty freaked out too, but after that we
left the guy and his girlfriend a book of mormon and left right away.
pretty awesome right? well that was our week, ill let you know what
other crazy stuff happens next week! love you guys so much. have a great
week!!
