hola!!
yesterday was a big catholic holiday and chile is playing peru in
soccer in the semi finals so everything was closed and we didn't get to
write so sorry for that...but this week has been really good.
i got the news on saturday night that i was leaving santa cruz and elder
salas and i got to my new sector, centinela, in the san fernendo zone,
but the crazy thing is that this is the same sector and zone that i
started the mission with elder garcia, my trainer!! im here with elder
tabilo, an elder from northern chile, and it is awesome. i already
know the sector, and its going to be so cool to go get to see all the
members and investigators i had when i was here almost a year ago! i
live in a huge 3 story pent house with 7 other elders, and its
freaking awesome here. i love it. its going to be a great change and
im so stoked to go work in my old sector!! i'm going to be able to
complete a year in the same place i was born!!
questions:
are you still eating tomatoes and have you developed a liking for
them?
i eat them mixed with other things, but i don't really like them.
i had a bad experience with tomato and onion salad...
do you still feel like you'll come home and want to join the military
and fly helicopters?
yep
are you able to go on splits with any of the youth in your branch?
we didn't have many youth in the branch, but we did go on splits with one
guy named brian who is preparing to go on a mission in a few months
and we went with him a few times a week
how often do you get to play soccer? are you getting better at it?
i haven't played for 2 changes (12 weeks) but in my new zone we play
every friday with the members from the branch
do you miss doing the fireworks tents?
i actually do, but not with jason haha
I'm sure grandma and grandpa are filling you in all all the Nauvoo
details. What was the most memorable thing for you about our trip to
Nauvoo?
going to the city part and visiting all the old printing press
buildings and the little hotel we stayed in by the mississippi river
and the workshop we did when we made the nauuvoo brick, the horse
shoes and the candles and stuff
have you tried any new foods lately?
everyone eats pretty much the same food here, but i want to try
horse jerky and chicken foot soup
what was the most rewarding part of your week?
finishing organizing the changes in the zone and arriving to san
fernando with some old mission buddies in my old sector
i read d and c 122 7-9 a few days ago in my studies and it really
changed the way i look at my problems or trials and how insignificant
they really are. i'm not really sure what my purpose was in santa cruz,
i feel like i didn't really do much, but i know it was all for a
reason, and it will all be worth it in the end. it wont always be
easy, but it will always be worth it.thanks for all your help and
support. it really does help. hope you have a great week, ill send
pictures and some video entries if i can next week!!! love you!
love,
elder pacheco
