"i know this is the work of the senor"

im glad everyone had a good thanksgiving!!! i heard the food was great and it was a relaxing weekend. over here in chile, we didnt do much to celebrate, and ill be honest i forgot it was even thanksgiving last week....terrible of me i know. but the other night we celebrated, just one other elder and i from utah named elder hinton, by eating mashed potatoes and noodles and thinking about the things we miss about home...lame ha. but it turned out to a pretty funny night. we stayed up talking about good food, winter traditions and then we got super trunky. happy chilean thanksgiving!

(i emailed him back quickly and asked what traditions he remembered...
"going to the mckees house of course, playing games and sports with all the hatches in the church, sharing with the family what we are thankful for, being together for school vacations and going on camp outs up north, decorating the christmas tree/house, all that good stuff")

anyway, things this week have been going super great. we have 2 solid progressing investigators with baptismal dates for december, and then we have danilo. this kid, danilo, is so awesome. he is coming to church and staying all 3 hours, he reads the book of mormon and prays everyday, we are teaching him all about the temple and the priesthood and it all turned out perfect because we got a call from the asistents telling us that we have permission to baptize danilo this saturday!!! his original baptismal date was for the 12th of december, because he has to come to church 6 times at least to get baptize (as of now he only came 4 times) but president warne gave us permission to baptize danilo this saturday because he is ready and there is no need to wait anymore!

the baptism is going to be at 7 at night on saturday the 5th of december, and things are pretty set. we need to give him a final baptismal interview on wednesday and when he passes the interview things will be completley ready for saturday. sunday the 6th he is going to get confirmed, then an hour later in his young mens class he will recieve the aaronic priesthood so that on tuesday the 8th he can go to the temple with the branch to do baptisms for the dead! there will be lots of pictures mom, don't worry ill send them next monday. that was pretty much our miracle of the week.

its week 5 of 6 already which means changes are in two more weeks is all. this change is flying by and with christmas and danilos baptism this month is going to pass so fast. its weird how fast the time has been passing latley, but its also given me a wake up call and helped me feel more urgency to hasten the work of the lord while im here still.

i know this is the work of the seƱor, i know he has a perfect plan and i know that he is here with us and is helping us succeed. i have been studying lately about the plan of salvation and the nature of god and i testify that god is our loving heavenly father. he sent us here to help us become exalted beings like him one day and he and jesus christ are doing and will do all they can to help us reach that eternal goal. god does not want us to fail and he will send all he has to get us back to his presence one day. its important for us to know that we are children of a very loving and merciful father and to know that one day we can be just like him. i know that is the truth and the things we need to do to return are simple. god gives us simple commandments and tells us to make simple but eternal covenants with him. we are the ones that complicate things, not heavenly father.

know that heavenly father loves each one of you and that he is here to help us. he lives. jesus christ is his son. i love you guys so much, i hope you have a good week and enjoy the christmas spirit of december! thanks for everything.

love,

elder pacheco
