are you serious about the changes in the
ward? that's so awesome!!! bummer about the ward boundaries but im almost
positive that i know who the new bishop is. its brother layton im sure!
elder silvera is
doing great in the office but i miss him a ton. elder salinas is awesome
and hilarious but elder silvera is elder silvera and no one can
replace him. its ok though, elder salinas and i are working hard here in
san fernando still.
good news and bad news for
this week..... bad news: hector didnt get baptized, and he wont be
getting baptized for a while longer. we had a really deep talk with him
about the commandments and tithing and the commitment to the church and
he decided that he wants to come to church to listen, but not to
participate. he doesnt really have a huge desire to get baptized
anymore, but at least he wants to come to church still. little by little
he will come around and be baptized. good news: we are working with
this 14 year old named danilo and i am positive he is going to get
baptized in december, just before the change ends. the best part is that
he will also be able to go to the temple with the branch just before
his baptism which is what he really wants to do. he is so awesome and
funny and in tune with the church. danilo is probably the best
investigator we have ever had and one of the few that is progressing and
really has desires and wants to sincerely follow christ. so awesome
when the lord guides us to people like danilo.
the
convert baptisms that ive been to last a little more than an hour and
they are really simple but super spiritual. this saturday we were able
to attend a baptism of a little 8 year old girl in the branch. in my
time here in san fernando we have helped this family get reactivated and
we have been working alot with the daughter and the mom. the mom is
named johana and she has 5 kids that are now all members but that go to
church with their grandma, bernarda. the daughter that got baptized is
named monse and she is so funny and pure and just a good newest little
member of the branch. when she got up to share her testimony, she
started to talk about her mom and the missionaries that have been
helping the family for so long and i have to admit that i began to cry.
the spirit was so strong in that moment and i feel like after all my
time here in san fernando (11 and a half months) that was one of the
reasons why i was called here. when monse´s grandma got up to share her
testimony, i began to tear up again and felt such a good peaceful
feeling, like i was able to help at least someone while here in san
fernando and in the mission. my mission hasn't been full of success as far
as baptism and reactivation and numbers go, but that saturday morning i
felt so good and i felt like after so much time of not that much
notable success, now i know why im here. it was a pretty incredible
feeling and experience and it will be a great mission experience that i
wont forget.
after being here in one zone for
so long, its hard to keep going and keep pushing on when i have
contacted almost every block 3 times (there are 150 blocks in our
sector) and ive found myself complaining too much. i know why im here
now and i know that im here for a reason, so i want to change my
attitude and stop complaining and work as hard as i can while im still
here. ive been blessed with amazing companions my entire mission and im
so glad to have gotten to know so many good elders and have so many good
examples in my mission. ive definitely been blessed in my time here in
san fernando and in chile all together.
i tried
to get my sd card from my camera to work, but i haven't had much luck.
im going to send it in to a store or find a member that can fix it and
then ill send pictures of the baptism and of all the things i havent
been able to send for a while. sorry for no fotos again, but ill do my
best for next week! love you, hope everything goes well this week. tell
brother layton congrats and that i cant wait to see him and if you could
send me bishop moore´s email and layton´s email tambien, that would be
great. thanks for everything!
love you so much!
love you so much!
