buenas!
elder
marshall and i have become such good friends this past week, we've gone
through a long week but it was a good week. the best part is that our
one investigator, catalina parra, the sister of a recent convert is
finally going to get baptized this saturday!!! i thought that she would
need another church attendance before her baptism and she has been
telling us that she feels really nervous, but she came to church
yesterday with her aunt and her brother, and recently told us that she
is more anxious and ready than nervous now. the best part is that her
older brother jose who got the priesthood 3 weeks ago will be baptizing
her! elder marshall and i havent had many baptisms in our missions and
its been a while since our last baptism so we are so pumped and excited
for this saturday and for the familia parra.
we
have been teaching all the nonmember friends or relatives of all the
members in our ward and haven't had a ton of success, but as we keep
looking and teaching with the members i know we will be blessed with
another person ready for baptism. the lord likes to try us, sometimes until the last minute, but there are always blessings after.
i am reading in alma right now, and i don't know if ive shared this with you guys already, but i love these verses in alma 16:13-17. alma and amulek leave to teach repentance to all the people, in every place, their homes and churches and sanctuaries but they dont do it alone. they go with those who have been called as missionaries for life (the members of the church) and they go with the help of heavenly father. as they go to teach with the members the lord prepared the way for them and he also prepared the hearts of the people they taught.
missionary work is not a work for only the missionaries. the members are such an essential part. without the members us missionaries cant do much. it takes a team effort of missionary, member, and the lord. as we teach and find and baptize together, the lord will prepare the hearts of those that need the gospel.

to the missionaries back home. they need your help and its a lot more
effective than knocking doors all day. love you guys have a great
week!!
