"find someone that could use the message we have and share it with them this week"

buenas tardes todos,

this week has flown by so fast, i feel like i was just here yersterday, trying to remember what happened this past week!! we have been working a lot on finding new people to teach, and we have founnd 3 that are actually accepting us and understanding what we say. i feel like a lot of the lessons we teach go right through these people ears, so when we get people that are in tune with the spirit and actually understand the message we are trying to share it is really exciting and spiritually motivating.

we had a special 2 day meeting for all the zone leaders this thursday and friday with pres warne and it was awesome. we went over all of our responsibilities and duties and all that we need to do to be more effective, patient, loving and more christ like leaders, people and missionaries.

one of the many things that stuck out to me was a quote that presidente warne shared with us: "the real kind of joy and excitement and motivation for missionary work doesnt come from fun zone activities, yelling and being loud and crazy, or pretending we are engaged in a good cause, it comes from jesus christ. it comes from our love of christ, and our willingness to serve Him. true joy simply comes from the spiritual experiences we have." i realized that there is no need to be roudy or loud, but the real happiness and love and excitement comes from the real spiritual times we share with the holy ghost. it was an awesome meeting and i learned so much from it.

questions:

tell us about a few random things that happened this week.
ha. we were walking down the street to an appointment we had when out of nowhere this lady stops us, picks up a big rock and asks "what would happen if i threw this rock at that house over there?" being me, i replied "uh you would probably break something..." then she was about to throw the rock when her little 5 year old son started violently and explosively vomiting all over himself and the ground.... she freaked out, dropped the rock, i gave her a napkin, and then she walk away... hows that for random??

does your mission president encourage/discourage family coming to pick up missionaries?  What are your thought on it?
im not sure on his thoughts on it, but pres warne will finish about 2 weeks before i do next year, so it won't really make much of a difference i think it would be way cool though.

With all the rain, do you still have your umbrella and is it holding up fine?  what about your shoulder bag, still working?
ya everything is all good,= and my bag is waterproof and holding up just fine

we still want pictures of all the elders in the apartment and where you're living!
ill take a family picture tonight and send it next week

you said being a zone leader can have it's fun times, so what is something fun about it?
going to the meetings with all my other mission buddies, getting to help the zone progress and even though its a little hard, its fun to get everything organized and planned, especially when it all comes together like its supposed to.

i want to testify that christ lives. he is real, he is risen and he is here with us. if we ask him with faith and are obedient to his commandments, he is obligated to bless us and help us (d and c 82:10) so why aren't we more obedient sometimes? i think that is the question to life. we know what we want and need to do to be able to return to live with heavenly father again, but yet we still sometimes choose to serve satan. i want to invite everyone to go back and read the general conference talks from the last conference and really think how we can apply the teachings we learn to our own lives. i love this work and i encourage each one of you to be anxiously engaged in this great work with me. find someone that could use the message we have and share it with them this week. i love you guys so much and hope you all have the best day today.

love,

elder pacheco
