this week was tough and fun and passed so
fast, full of small miracles and all kinds of blessings and its now
already the last week of the change. ill let you know if im leaving or
staying next week.
as far as the work is going,
we had 2 investigators with a baptismal date and the boyfriend of one
of the investigators, who is a less active. hector was one of the
investigators, and magdelin and orlando were the others that came. we
found magdelin and orlando contacting last week and they are so awesome.
orlando has 33 years and has been a member since he was like 14 but
magdelin in evangelica. she accepted the baptismal date for the 10th of
october, but they have to get married first. i dont think it was
coincidence that we talked about the law of chastity and eternal
marriage in the gospel principles class after sacrament meeting haha.
hector is doing good still, and is on track to be baptized next
saturday!
questions:
how
are your prayers different now than before you left for your mission?
well they are in spanish now.... but apart from that i would say that they are a lot more focused on others rather than me like they were before. there is a lot more feeling behind them and its sad that it hasn't always been that way for me, but that's part of why im here on the mission, to change for the better.
what do you know now that you wish you would have known in high school?
spanish, how to teach from the missionary lessons, how important missionary work is, and how important the members are in missionary work. i wish i would have felt more urgency to share the gospel before the mission. but again, that's why i'm here.
what is the best thing about President Warne?
he is very direct and to the point and he knows how to listen to the spirit. he is always in tune with the spirit.
what did you have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner yesterday? breakfast was a bowl of frosted flakes, lunch was fried fish and mashed potatoes and dinner was another bowl of cereal and some juice.
Do you have a monsoon season?
no its just rain in the winter and no rain in the summer
How will you celebrate sept 18th this week?
we are going to party with the branch and play soccer and a bunch of huaso (chilean cowboy) games with the members and then have a huge asado (barbaque) as a branch.
why did you decide to stop drinking soda?
everyone drinks soda here everyday, every meal, non stop and i hate it almost as much as i hate dogs here.
are you pulling something out of your missionary jar every day? what did you read this morning? yep, today was a quote by pres monson from grandpa hatch that talked about loving those we serve
did you get the shoes yet?
not yet, but we are having a zone conference this wednesday so my package should be there
