"he is 79 years old and is ready to be baptized"

familia,

this week has been super super awesome and filled with lots of great experiences and miracles. the first part of the week passed by quickly as normal and 5 of our 7 fechas fell through leaving us with only two when friday came around. my comp and i were pretty bummed and tired when we heard the there was a funeral in the ward and an older member passed away. that brought our spirits down even more since we went to visit this hermano in the hospital a few times.

we went to the viewing and the funeral and when we got there we found one of the friends of the member who passed away. modesto, the friend, was sad that he wouldn't get to see his friend again, so we naturally started to share about god and and his plan for us. modesto told us that he used to go to an evangelical church and that he believes in god and he loves church but that he just hasn't gone for a while. he went on and explained how good he felt to be in our church and that he felt peace and calm and he now realized why his friend was a member of this church.

at the end of the viewing ceremony, we got modestos address and number and scheduled an appointment for the next day. we got to modestos house at around 6, he let us right in, and told us that he read the pamphlet we left him and that he loved it. as we explained a little bit of the plan of salvation he intrrupted us and said," elders i have a problem. ive already been baptized in the evangelical church... but can i be baptized again in your church to be able to participate in this plan of salvation?" elder mesias stopped, looked at eachother, and both said SI HERMANO POR SU PUESTO! (yes brother, of course you can!)

we invited him right there to be baptized on the 27th of febrero and he accepted without a doubt. we explained the requirements for baptism (3 times at church, word of wisdom, law of chastity) and he said ill be at church every sunday, im married and ready to live the law of chastity and he gave us all his coffee and commited to stop drinking tea on the spot. he is the golden investigator every missionary hopes to find, and elder mesias are I so grateful we were able to be led to him. we realized that the death of hermano alejandro lopez was very necessary in finding modesto and even though the news of his death was sad, it was part of heavenly fathers plan to guide us to modseto.

elder mesias and i had been praying all week to find someone and to have progresing investigators and the lord answered our prayers. modesto came to church yesterday (he actually picked us up in his car on the way to church) and told all the members he loved the church, that he is going to be baptized on the 27th, and that he is going to come to church every sunday. its so awesome when things like this happen and im so grateful for being able to meet and teach modesto. i know the lord is preparing his children to hear his gospel and i know the lord hears and answers our prayers.

one of the best parts of my mission was hearing modesto ask us if he could get baptized and seeing his face when he accepted the date for the 27th. his name is modesto valdebenito, he is 79 years old and is ready to be baptized. i know the lord hears us, we just have to ask and act.

thanks for your prayers and support everyone. i hope the week goes well for everyone. i love you all!!

love,
